BYU SPLASH2 Programming

This manual assumes you are already familiar with VHDL programming and synthesis using SYNOPSYS. It further assumes you are familiar with the SPLASH architecture. The purpose of this manual is to assist you to navigate the SPLASH tool suite in creating a SPLASH application, simulate it in SYNOPSYS, create .bit files and download these to SPLASH to execute your application in real time. It is a supplement to the "SPLASH2 Programmer's Manual" and the "SPLASH2 Tutorial" written at SRC. It goes beyond the information contained in those manuals by leading the designer through configuring his environment and completing two tutorial examples in the BYU environment. As a result, it contains site-dependent information and should be guaranteed to result in a successful SPLASH execution of the tutorial examples at BYU.

At the current time this manual and the examples listed exist in the /fpga3/cad/splash1195_1998.02 directory at BYU.
