Setting Up Your Environment

To setup your account so you can run Khoros software on the HP workstations :
  1. Execute /ka1/khoros/hpux/bin/kconfigure (generates a .khoros_env file in your home directory)
  2. Source the .khoros_env file.
  3. Execute cantata and have fun!
The HP installation has the Mathematical Morphology Toolbox, the Wavelet Toolbox, and the DIP (Digital Image Processing) Course Toolbox in addition to the standard toolboxes.

You should be able to run Khoros 2.1 on any HP which can see /ka1--it has been compiled for the least common denominator (HP-UX 9.05 from fpga). Also, the remote host features have been tested and seem to work just fine. This means you can have Khoros tasks in Cantata which actually execute on remote machines as well as your local machine.

Learning about Khoros

A few suggested links for learning about Khoros and Cantata include the following:
  1. Khoros 2: Data Model, Programming and Visualization Tools
  2. Digital Image Processing (DIP) with Khoros 2.1
You must have access to /ka1 to see these links. For the equivalent links on the Web, you might check out the Khoral Research site at http://www.khoral.com.
